True Romance for Couples with Kids: 10 ideas

In my marriage, some of the most memorable evenings have also
been the least expensive. Sure, I have enjoyed the bouquets
and the boxes of chocolate, but it is the folk music in the
ski lodge, the sips of Chardonnay on our summer porch swing,
and the nights spent reading in bed, side by side, that
really stand out.

Anyone can splurge on a formal dinner or a pricey bottle of
perfume, but it takes creativity, forethought, and time to be
truly romantic.

The key lies in personalizing your celebration. Here are ten
ideas to fuel your own creativity:

1. Empty a box of chocolate (either into your mouth or onto a
plate...) Then cut out 50 to 100 hearts from lace doilies,
construction paper, or fabric. On each cutout, record
something about him that you love. Be specific, "The way you
smell when you come to bed at night," "The way you take care
of me when Im sick," or simply "Your recipe for pancakes."

Another variation: Write down 100 cherished memories of your
life together. Fold the cutouts, place them in the chocolate
box, and top with a red satin bow. The time you spend coming
up with these ideas will contribute to your own romantic mood,
and what he thinks is a plain box of chocolates will be a gift
hell keep close to his heart forever. And you can add to the
box each year.

2. Build a romantic fire. Before the kids go to bed, have fun
roasting marshmallows. After their lights are out, host your
own indoor picnic, complete with a bottle of wine and
chocolate-covered strawberries.

3. Recreate your first date together. What were you wearing?
Where did you go? Do you remember what you talked about? Spend
the evening reminiscing and reflecting on how far youve come
as a couple.

4. Spoon all night.

5. Choose a book in which you are both interested, fiction or
nonfiction. Read a new chapter each night before bed. This
cozy tradition will allow you to spend some quality time
together and often makes for thought-provoking breakfast
conversations.

6. Make a tape of the songs special to your relationship.
Include "your song," songs from your wedding, songs from
favorite movies. Add a personal voice dedication and leave
it in his briefcase, Walkman, or car stereo.

7. Turn off the TV.

8. Kidnap your husband. Arrange for a babysitter for a few
hour--or a few days. A friend of mine had a lot of success
with this one. She knew her husband had always wanted to get
married in Vegas, but he had agreed to a large, formal ceremony
hosted by her family. So, after they had been married 10 years,
she surprised him at work with a packed suitcase. They caught
an evening flight and renewed their vows before an Elvis
impersonator in a Vegas chapel. Years later, theyre
still talking about it.

9. This one requires a babysitter, too. Next time youre
visiting your parents or in-laws, leave the kids with their
grandparents and travel to another town, where no one will
recognize you. Check into a hotel or B&B. Dress like another
woman. Act like another woman. Its fun to slip into another
persona from time to time.

10. Have a scavenger hunt. Write a few poems, wrap candy
kisses inside, and hide them around the house. Each poem
should be a clue to finding the next one. Make sure the
final clue lands your man someplace you want to end up
for the entire evening. A romance package, including a
bottle of champagne and new lingerie, is a nice touch.

Create a memory this Valentine's Day, not with your
pocketbook, but with your imagination.

Customer Review: Great series

My daughter (18 months now!) loves this series. She laughs and claps whenever I put it on.

We started showing her the series at about 7 months but she didn't get interested until about 13 months. I was shocked at how quickly she began making signs at that point.

Some reviewers are critical about all the animal signs on this DVD but if you think about it, animals are VERY fascinating to children. When you show this series to a baby, you aren't just teaching them important words for them to know (eat, milk, more, etc.) but are teaching them the actually concept of words and communication. Getting them to keep watching by showing the animals and animal signs is helpful. One of my daughter's first signs was dog and she was thrilled when she realized she had been able to make me understand her. She learned additional signs rapidly after that breakthrough.

Her verbal skills are expanding rapidly at this point but her pronunciation is still horrible - like most toddlers, only mommy and daddy can understand what she says. Signing lets her get her point across much more easily so she feels far less frustrated.

Nintendo DS Nintendogs Dachshund & Friends

Nintendo DS Nintendogs Dachshund & Friends
In Nintendogs 1: Dachshund&Friends you'll get to train and care for a a puppy, without having to clean up all those soiled newspapers. As you teach your puppy to obey, it'll start competing in dog shows. See if your dog can earn money you can use to buy new breeds!

Customer Review: A teen's reveiw: Nintendogs

The basic idea of the game is to own a dog without the mess and the costs it takes to both own and take care of a pet. As one who can not afford a pet myself, I decided to try out this game. Every had been going nuts about for so long, a assumed it would be this fabulous creation. Despite some of the negative reviews it had received.

Sadly, I found out the hard way that the game gets old very quickly. Sure, the dogs are adorable. And for the first few minutes, sure, it's fun to yell like an idiot into the microphone of your DS as you teach them their names and different sorts of tricks. But that will get boring, especially if your dogs too stupid to learn the move (my husky apparently is such a dog. After about fifty times of trying to teach it shake, I gave up).

There are the contest, but you only get three a day, and not as much money from it as you'd hope. And of course there's always the fact that if you put down your DS for a few days and don't check up on your dogs, you're fined what precious little money you have is enough to turn someone from the game.

I would definitely not recommend this game to anyone, except for perhaps children.

Whether building from scratch, remodeling or just dreaming, 3D Home Architect Home Design Special Edition 6 delivers a complete selection of tools to help you bring your vision to life. Designing your dream home is easier than you think!

Customer Review: 3d Home architect

This software was sent to me as a $9.95 software package. I thought it would be "no frills" software, it turned out to be the "lite" version, and basically incomplete for my needs. Overall it does not do the job. I had the original 3D home architect which was a fine product, this new one pales by comparison. Indeed virtually worthless. There was no indication that this would be the "lite" version.

I am sorely disapointed.

Further I am getting telemarketing calls using Broderbunds name to sell "junkware"! Overall, a extreme disapointment.

Kettle Valley Certified Organic Real Fruit Snack, Orchard Blend, 0.7-Ounce Bars (Pack of 60)
Customer Review: Good

Good chew and flavor. Although a little soft for me, is GREAT for younger kids (smal fruit in the diaper bag, can't beat that) as it is not as hard as other varieties.
