You should have water accessible if you work with chemicals as flushing them quickly helps alleviate some of the damage done by the chemicals. Special face shields may be what you need to prevent this from happening. If you have a prescription lens, some companies require prescription safety glasses also. Your eye doctor can find these for you. If you require a prescription lens and need safety glasses but you cant see because of the safety glasses requirement, you will be less efficient at work and less safe. If laser pointers are something you use in your job, know that staring into one for a short period of time may cause temporary blindness. Flying cork bottles can rupture an eyeball and fireworks have also been known to damage the eyes of children and adults.
There are many styles on the market for sports enthusiasts and this is one of the fastest growing industries in the field of safety glasses.

Shooting glasses should feature side temple guards as well as high impact lenses. The frames will feature a sweat bar across the top and smooth rounded edges so sharp corners dont dig into the face. Many shooters like colored lenses because they block glare and haze. Protective goggles and masks are good for the swimmer or scuba diver, and snow skiers need total goggles for protection from wind, snow and ice. If you thought you looked funny when you wore protective eyewear while playing handball or other fast action sport, consider the thought of what it would feel like to be blind and not being able to see much of anything from a sports injury. Make sure the fit is proper so they actually perform the function they are meant to do. The loose fitting safety glasses will fall off easily or if they are uncomfortable you wont wear them. Parents are concerned about helmets for their children for many sports; just dont forget about your children wearing safety glasses as well. Check the fit every year as they wont fit as the child grows. Start them early thinking about caring for their eyes and they will be safer and think about it more as they grow into adults.

Chazz Palminteri wrote the script for this excellent story of an Italian American boy (Lillo Brancato) who grows up in the 1960s caught between the strong influences of his blue-collar, straight- arrow father (Robert De Niro) and a Mafia chieftain (Palminteri) who is his all-purpose mentor. De Niro makes his directorial debut with this production and, except for a little stiffness, does very well by the characters and their world. The story does not go precisely where one might expect it to go: Palminteri knows better than to force the central figure to choose between the two most important men in his life, and he doesn't fill time with stock drama about crime or family conflict. Joe Pesci makes an extremely effective and uncredited appearance at the end as a man who doesn't have to do more than speak softly to communicate how dangerous he is. --Tom Keogh

Customer Review: A course in phony nostalgia and phony morality

I was greatly surprised to see how many stars this film recieved by viewers, it certainly does not deserve such applause. "A bronx tale" is basically a tale about a typical Italian american boy growing up in the 60's ,who is mentored by a mobster. This underworld figure demonstrates a set of morals and he cares deeply for "calogero", who later in his teenage years falls in love with a black girl. His mentor, played by Palimentieri, teaches him that true love is all that counts. The plot means well, but the acting is awful and the message is not believeable.

Never, ever, in the 1960's would a large number of whites, regardless of how they earned a living, demonstrate such understanding. The film has an agenda and the role of the mobsters are incidental to the central point, which is calogeros' eventual love for the girl. Lilo Brancato and the characters of his friends display an incredible lack for acting. The writing is bad and the characters stiff. It is known that Robert deniro only dates women of color, and although there is certainly nothing wrong with that, his desire and predilection seem to dictate the direction of this movie. It is not moving, but rather offensive. Italian americans are overwhelmingly portrayed as dopey , all of them having a cross dangling from their necks. No, I did not like this movie. I grew up in Queens during the 70's. I am an Italian american who grew up in an Italian neighborhood.I found this film reeking from steriotypical ideas of what New Yorkers were like. The writing was awful and I cant stress how bad the acting is. I also do not believe the movie was completely based on the play, it was rewritten to fit personal profiles. The movie was insulting and false. A figment of Deniros idea of entertainment. He should have stuck to playing roles where he does what he does best, curse and swear.

Customer Review: Fun for kids

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter. She is very careful with all her toys so I figured a cute "adult" like camera would be good for her. It is a nice camera and has been used a lot. She loves it and makes her feel grown up...especially when she gets to download them onto the computer and use the software to work with them. The only complaint I had was you don't get to see the pictures until they are downloaded and the pictures can be easily deleted. However, this is a childs camera for only a few bucks you can't beat it. I would buy it again.
